Welcome!
Last month at TBWA\ we had the cool opportunity to create a complete campaign for the newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. They were giving away "phone tags" – little decorative gadgets on a string that can be attached to your mobile.
The product was about the most pointless waste of plastic we'd ever seen, but hey, who doesn't like a challenge?

Good news. We had the luck that the peeps at Kunst in Huis were looking for a way to promote their Kunst op Kot initiative, and they were very enthusiastic about our print campaign.
The first image is now being used in various media (poster, newspaper, postcards) and is featured on their brand new website kunstopkot.be
Not only is this very cool for my portfolio, it also means there's posters of a half naked yours truly hanging all over Flanders, so I'm expecting the groupies to roll in any moment now...

Sigh, to all good things must come an end.
We're back in grey old Brussels. No more giraffes, no more rhinos, no more suicidal traffic, no more funky languages around...
We had a blast in South Africa, learned loads and met great people. We're gonna miss it to bits.
But on a brighter note: next month Kasper and I are starting our "official" three-month internship at TBWA\Brussels, which we're really looking forward to.
The party continues.

Woohoo, it is official. This summer Kasper and I will be spending two months in infamous Johannesburg, doing internships at The Agency and Ogilvy.
The only downside is, that it's winter and bloody cold over in Jo'burg. Just when it was starting to get summery in Belgium. At least we won't have to endure any suffocating heatwaves this year. A little frostbite at worst.
Again, we will be keeping a blog, which i will post up here as soon as we get the URL fixed.

Yeehaw, our self-promotional newspaper ad got printed and sent out to dozens of Belgian ad agencies.
(so I finally have my face in a newspaper – guess it doesn't count if you do it yourself, but still..)

This year, our class is organising an end of year exhibition, where we will get the chance to showcase our best work to our future employers in the advertising & design bizz.
Together with our classmates, we received the noble task to produce the campaign for this event.

Kasper and I won the "Win a Newspaper Ad" competition, which was organised by Scripta and openhere at this year's Young Creatives' Day.
The prize: Our self-promo ad will be published in a special edition of De Standaard, and mailed to creative directors in Belgium.
Finally realized Dutch isn't a world language after all, so in light of my global rise to fame, I worked up the courage to translate this stuff into English.
I haven't gotten around to doing all of it yet, so "may contain traces of weird Belgium-speak", but bear with me.
And please excuse the occasional grammatical disaster – I blame Engrish.com.
Een wonderlijk spetterend nieuwjaar toegewenst aan jullie allen, trouwe fans! Moge het in evenveel stijlloosheid en marginaliteit ingehuldigd zijn als het mijne.
En moge het een jaar van frequente updates en goed geoliede websites worden. Ik lig nog steeds te worstelen met CSS om mijn tweede thuis op het web een beetje strak te krijgen, maar de moed zakt me af en toe diep in de schoenen.
Ik heb intussen een onmetelijk ontzag gekregen voor al die dappere webdesigners out there. De échte strijders van de 21ste eeuw.
Gelieve in tussentijd deze site te bekijken in Firefox, of Safari, of iets anders, zolang het maar niet die rotte Internet Explorer is. Microbrol. Grrr!

Woohoo! Heden ben ik met mijn trouwe kompaan Kasper vertrokken naar the Big Apple, alwaar wij twee maanden stage gaan lopen bij Duval Guillaume New York. Brussels represent!
Acht weken in the city that never sleeps. En zelf zullen we ook niet op veel slaap hoeven rekenen..
Ons doen en laten buiten de werkuren zal te lezen staan op onze spiksplinternieuwe BLOG.
En u maakte zich nog wel zorgen over hoe u de zomer ging doorkomen.

Voor de gelegenheid hebben "mijn partner" en ik een self-promo toptopicaltje in elkaar gedraaid.
